As Associate Medical Director for U.S. Preventive Medicine, Inc., Dr. Browning lends his extensive experience to the planning, implementation and evaluation of consumer-directed products and tools for The Prevention Plan™, based on accepted medical protocols and clinical indicators.
Dr. Browning has been an integral part of the medical community in Jacksonville, is loved by his patients and highly regarded by his peers. He is a long-time proponent for preventive medicine, employing advanced diagnostics to detect conditions at the earliest stages.
In addition to maintaining a successful private practice since 1975, he currently serves as tour physician for The Players Championship, The Tour Championship and The President’s Cup. He currently is medical director of Cypress Village retirement community.
Among other numerous positions, Dr. Browning has served as medical director for State Farm Insurance of Northeast Florida, and is past president of Florida Medical Directors Association for Nursing Homes.
Dr. Browning is a founding board member and past chairman of The First Tee Jacksonville, past president of the American Heart Association - NE Florida Chapter, chairman of the Kratzert-Browning UNF Golf Classic and past chairman of The Players Championship Senior Tour.
In recognition of his significant service, Dr. Browning was bestowed the honor of honorary alumnus from the University of North Florida, and was named Volunteer of the Year for NCAA Division I schools. The Buster Browning Sports Rehabilitation Center at the University of North Florida was dedicated in his honor.
Dr. Browning attended Mercer University and graduated from Wake Forest University. He received his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia and completed his surgical residency at Jacksonville Hospital.
