FREDERIC S. GOLDSTEIN – PRESIDENT, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER AND DIRECTOR

Fred Goldstein serves as President, Director and Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. Preventive Medicine®. The Company acquired Specialty Disease Management Services, Inc. (“SDM”) in September 2007.  Previously, Mr. Goldstein was founder and president of Specialty Disease Management Services, Inc., which was acquired by USPM in 2007. He also served as Vice President and General Manager of HealthCare USA, and has more than 25 years experience as a health care executive managing hospitals, disease management and managed care companies.

From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Goldstein served as Vice President and General Manager of HealthCare USA, a licensed health insurer headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., where he led the team that grew the company’s Florida operations to 29,000 members and approximately $35 million in annual revenue in 24 months. HealthCare USA received the highest quality rating of 22 Medicaid HMOs audited by Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration, received a commercial HMO license, achieved NCQA accreditation, and was awarded a prestigious Medicare Choices demonstration project. 

From 1992 to 1994 Mr. Goldstein served as the Executive Director of The Retreat, a 100-bed psychiatric facility located in Sunrise, Fla. From 1987 to1992, he worked as an Administrator for Charter Medical Corporation at Charter Hospitals in Macon, Ga., Shreveport, La., Dallas, Texas, and Jacksonville, Fla. From 1984-1987, Mr. Goldstein worked for Republic Health Corporation in various capacities at the corporate office and as a hospital administrator. 

Mr. Goldstein has testified before the Florida and Texas legislatures on disease management and Medicaid reform and presented at several conferences including the DMAA Annual Conference, American Legislative Exchange Council, National Association of City and County Health Officers, and the Florida AIDS Education and Training Annual Conference. 

Mr. Goldstein received an MS in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, in 1984 and a BA in Zoology from the University of California at Berkeley in 1981.
