James Ehrlich, M.D., Chairman, National Medical Advisory Board

Dr. James Ehrlich is the medical director and founder of Colorado Heart Imaging (CHI) in Denver, a preventive medical imaging facility using electron beam tomography for early detection of coronary disease and cancer. Dr. Ehrlich is the medical co-director of similar facilities in Houston, Washington, D.C. and Boston, while consulting at several other imaging centers nationally and in Europe.

Considered an authority in the integration of imaging methods with conventional coronary risk assessment, he has given over 75 lectures in the field during the past four years. He has contributed a chapter on Electron Beam Tomography imaging for the second edition of Cardiology Secrets, a textbook released in 2001. Involved in atherosclerosis research with investigators at three medical schools, Dr. Ehrlich is a director and founding member of the Society of Atherosclerosis Imaging. In Denver, he is routinely profiled in the Denver Business Journal, "Who's Who in Health Care" and for two years hosted a talk radio show on KHOW emphasizing preventive medicine.

After graduating with honors from Boston University School of Medicine in 1976, he did his internship and residency training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center where he remained as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, a specialty he practiced for twenty years. Dr. Ehrlich is currently on the staff of University Hospital and Rose Medical Center in Denver.
