KATHY FLEMING – VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

With extensive experience in all phases of marketing and communications, Kathy Fleming, as vice president of communications, is responsible for developing and executing corporate communications and ensuring that key audiences understand the groundbreaking products U.S. Preventive Medicine® is bringing to the marketplace.

Prior to joining U.S. Preventive Medicine®. Ms. Fleming successfully led marketing communication programs for several start-up healthcare organizations, including HealthCare USA, which was founded by Chris Fey. One component of that experience included directing the marketing for the company’s opening in the St. Louis, where 50,000 members were enrolled in nine months, making it one of the most successful Medicaid health plans nationwide to date. She also directed the marketing communications for the HMO for the University of Chicago, which became the fastest growing and most respected health plan in a mature market.

In addition, Ms. Fleming served as vice president of communications for HealthScreen America, an innovative retail diagnostics company that gained extensive national attention and was featured on every major nightly news broadcast. She directed communications for the University of Florida Physicians Group (comprised of 300 academic physicians) and co-developed the UF Consultation Center, a service for referring physicians to obtain clinical consultations and arrange referrals.

Ms. Fleming also has held senior level positions, including founding her own firm, at creative marketing agencies, where she managed the accounts of national and regional clients such as Hunter Marine, CommunityBanksOnline, Goodwin Heart Pine Company, and Silver Springs. She began her career as a reporter at three Florida newspapers. She has earned numerous awards, as well as accreditation and certification from the Florida Public Relations Association.
