MARK CALEM – EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Mark Calem is Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the U.S. Preventive Medicine® and has served in this position since May 2006.  Prior to joining the company, Mr. Calem served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Health Record Network (HRN), located in Durham, NC, from 2004 to 2005, where he built a prototype of the personal health record that was used to assist in fundraising efforts for HRN and drive awareness of the potential for automating health information.

Prior to this position Mr. Calem was CTO and directed the Technology Office for the Public Sector Group of American Management Systems (AMS), located in Fairfax, Va., from 2002 to 2004, and was CTO for AMS’ State & Local Group and AMS’ Human Services Group from 1997 to 2002.  Mr. Calem managed AMS' College and University Group product development organization from 1989 to 1992, which developed the LEGEND product line.  At AMS, he was responsible for technology thought leadership, developing technology strategy, establishing corporate alliances, consulting at a senior level, and architecting the technical solutions on all large-scale bids.  Mr. Calem also co-chaired a steering committee that was responsible for selecting a Java-based architecture for Ohio's Department of Job and Family Services systems. He has submitted 2 software patent applications relating to innovations in the areas of integrated client management and dynamic data displays.

Mr. Calem has more than 24 years experience in project/technical management, technology consulting, systems architecture and design, development, and implementation of secure large-scale, mission-critical applications. He holds a Bachelor of Science, Administration & Management Science from Carnegie-Mellon University and is located in Oakton, Va.
