A key component of The Prevention Plan™ is the Prevention ScoreSM, a private and easy-to-use tool that helps members track, and employers reward, prevention efforts throughout the year. It is completely confidential and exclusively designed to help Members stay focused during their health improvement journey. The Prevention Score does not rate a person’s health conditions but rather scores individuals on their prevention efforts over time. It is an indicator of how proactive the member is when it comes to their health.
The Prevention Score starts out by creating a baseline assessment of the individual based on some key indicators such as cholesterol, blood pressure, smoking status and Body Mass Index and/or Waist/Hip ratio.
As the member participates in healthy, preventive activities such as weight loss challenges, action programs, preventive screenings (like getting their annual physical exam or dental cleaning), and community events (such as a cancer walk or a heart walk), their Prevention Score increases.
Validate Efforts and Achieve Rewards
Our clients are innovative in how they have designed incentive strategies around the Prevention Score. Gift cards to national retailers and significant reductions in health insurance premiums are just two examples of incentives employers offer to motivate their workforce to improve their score. We will help you customize a reward program that works within your budget and engages your employee population to achieve higher levels of prevention.
Protecting Your Employee’s Privacy
Protecting the privacy of our Members is paramount in the way we have designed The Prevention Plan and Prevention Score. Employers do not have access to an individual’s Personal Prevention Plan or Prevention Score information.
Instead, employers see the 250-point range in which the employee’s score falls. This allows employers to structure innovative incentives and rewards based on the prevention level achieved while ensuring the privacy of the individual.
